We prefer that if a customer is wanting a full restoration that they have the scooter stripped and blasted back to bare metal to guarantee the best finish.

Once we receive the bare scooter, I repair any dents or imperfections with panel beating tools to avoid using too much filler on the areas.

The next stage is etch-primer followed by a coat of under seal to preserve the scooter from rotting.

Then we go on with a high build primer over the top which is guide coated with a mist of black paint, the guide coat highlights all imperfections which can be sanded out for a smooth base before paint is applied.

All parts are panel wiped to remove any dirt, grease and dust, then dependent on the job requirements, base coat is applied with 3 coats.

.

Different types of finishes require different types of base coats i.e. pearl colours use a ground coat with pearl base coat over the top.

Jenna uses diluted acrylic paint airbrushed on top of standard base coat to complete custom jobs.

In the final stages the panels are tack clothed to remove dust before a ultra high solid clear lacquer is applied with 3-4 coats.

The last stage involves de-nibbing any dust trapped in the lacquer with fine wet and dry papers, followed by a machine polish.
